Superintendent's Message

Dear Parents, Students and Community,

I am thrilled to extend my warmest welcome back to another exciting school year! The start of a new academic year is a time of promise, renewal, and endless possibilities. Our dedicated educators and staff have been working diligently to ensure that our schools are safe, nurturing environments where every student can flourish and succeed.

The challenges of the past year have only reinforced our commitment to providing students with a high-quality education that fosters both academic growth and emotional well-being. Whether your child is stepping onto campus for the first time, returning to familiar hallways, or continuing their educational journey remotely, know that we are here to support their growth and development every step of the way. Our focus remains on promoting a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and academic excellence.

As we embrace the year ahead, we also celebrate the continued support of our incredible community in helping to provide students with opportunities for a well-rounded educational experience. Your involvement and engagement make a significant difference in the lives of our students. Whether it’s volunteering, attending events, or simply being an advocate for education, your partnership is invaluable and deeply appreciated.

In the spirit of collaboration, we encourage open communication between families, teachers, and administrators. Please continue to check the school website, establish correspondence with your child’s teachers, and check Newton Falls Schools' social media. Together, we can ensure that our students have the resources and encouragement they need to thrive academically and socially.

We are excited to provide students with an updated curriculum, innovative programs, and extracurricular offerings that aim to cater to our students' diverse interests and talents. We are committed to preparing them for a rapidly evolving world, equipping them with the skills and mindset needed to tackle challenges and embrace opportunities. This year will undoubtedly present its own set of opportunities and obstacles, but I have complete confidence that, together, we will overcome and achieve greatness.

Thank you for entrusting us with the education of your children, and for your continued support in building a brighter future for our community. Here's to a fantastic school year of growth, discovery, and success!

Academic Acceleration/Early Entrance

In accordance with the belief that all children are entitled to an education commensurate with their particular needs, students who can exceed the grade-level indicators and benchmarks set forth in the academic content standards must be afforded the opportunity and be encouraged to do so.

The Newton Falls Board of Education believes that such students often require access to advanced curriculum in order to realize their potential contribution to themselves and society.

All children learn and experience success given time and opportunity, but the degree to which academic content standards are met and the time it takes to reach the standards will vary from student to student. The Newton Falls Board of Education believes that all students, including advanced learners, should be challenged and supported to reach their full potential. For many advanced learners, this can best be achieved by affording them access to curriculum, learning environments, and instructional interventions more commonly provided to older peers.

Furthermore, research suggests that there is a positive correlation between a student's health and well being and his/her ability to learn.
