JHHS Cell Phone Policy

JHHS Cell Phone Policy

Effective at the start of the 23-24 school year, the Board of Education approved a new cell phone policy for our students in grades 6-12. Students in grades 6-8 are only permitted to use their phones before or after school and must not have them visible during the school day. Students in grades 9-12 are permitted to use their cell phones exclusively during lunchtime; otherwise, phones are not to be visible during the school day. Headphones and/or earbuds are not permitted to be worn unless specifically for educational purposes. If a student violates this policy, their phone will be confiscated (no warnings) and can be retrieved from the respective office at the end of the day. Students who violate this rule repeatedly will be required to have a parent pick up their phone from the school for the remainder of the year.
